Solar energy is on the rise in the United States and with good reason.\u00a0\u00a0
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Solar power is growing cheaper by the day and with many businesses looking for a way to decrease their daily spending, self-sourced solar power is one the most attractive options for cutting loose from big power companies.  
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of our partners at Greater Harrison Chamber of Commerce is Chamber Energy Partners, and they’re offering significant grants and relief to those businesses looking to install solar panels on their business.\u00a0\u00a0

Chamber Energy Partners Statement 
<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The\u202fUSDA Rural Development\u202fRural Energy for America Program (REAP)\u202fprovides\u202fgrants and\/or loan guarantees\u202fto support\u202frenewable energy system\u202finstallations\u202for energy efficiency improvements. The grant program can cover\u202fup to\u202f25% of the eligible project costs while the loan guarantee can cover up to 75% of the eligible project costs. Grants can range from $1,500 to $500,000 with loan guarantees up to $25,000,000.\u202f\u202f 
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are multiple financial incentives that can make a solar project more affordable than ever.\u202fFor example, a\u202f$100,000 solar\u202fsystem\u202fimmediately qualifies for a 26% Investment Tax Credit, dropping the total system cost to $74,000. If eligible, this same system could qualify for an additional $25,000 in federal grants. These combined benefits could mean reducing the total solar system cost from $100,000 to $49,000!\u202f\u202f\u202f\u202f  
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To qualify, you must be either\u202fa\u202fsmall business in areas with a population less than 50,000\u202for\u202fan\u202fagricultural producer\u202f(at least 50% of gross income coming from agricultural operations).\u202fA\u202f\u201csmall\u201d business is defined by the following guidelines\u202fat this link\u202fwww.sba.gov<\/a>.\u202f 
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next\u202fdeadline for\u202fthe USDA REAP\u202fprogram is\u202fMarch\u202f31, 2022. Application\u202fmaterials can be found\u202fon the\u202fREAP\u202fsite<\/a>\u202funder the \u201cTo Apply\u2019 tab.\u202fThe\u202fChamber\u202fEnergy Program\u202fcan assist\u202fwith all aspects of your project,\u202fincluding assistance in completing the\u202fREAP\u202ffunding paperwork.\u202fApplications are subject to meeting qualifying criteria as determined by the USDA.\u202f\u202f
